Tuzo za OSCARS ni kati ya tuzo zenye heshima kubwa duniani, na mtaani huwa wanasema kama movie haijatajwa hata kwenye kuwania tu tuzo hii ni jibu tosha kwamba bado haijafikia viwango vya kimataifa, sasa tukiachia hayo January 24, 2017 waandaaji wa tuzo hizo wametangaza list ya mastaa na movie zinazowania tuzo hii.
Majina ya wanaowania tuzo hizi zikiwa ni msimu wake wa 89 yametangazwa leo asubuhi, movie ya La La Land ndio imeongoza kwa kutajwa kuwania tuzo 14 na kuweka rekodi ya kipekee.
Tuzo hizi pia hujumuisha mastaa wa muziki wanaocheza movie na kuandika ngoma zinazotumika kama soundtrack za movie au series ambapo Mastaa waliotajwa kuwania tuzo hizo ni pamoja na Jennifer Hudson, Brie Larson, Emmanuel Lubezki, Jason Reitman na Ken Watanabe.
Sherehe za utoaji tuzo hizi zitafanyika kwenye ukumbi wa Dolby Theatre ulioko Hollywood mnamo February 26, 2017 na zitaongozwa na mshereheshaji Jimmy Kimmel. hii ni mara ya kwanza kwa MC huyu kuhost tuzo za Oscars, japokuwa ameshahost tuzo kubwa ikiwemo mwaka 2012 na 2016 alikuwa host wa Emmy Awards.
